Just because you can’t see E.coli, doesn’t mean it’s not there.  

Did you know that…

• People who get their drinking water from private wells have 5 times higher risk of gastrointestinal illnesses, compared to those who get their water from a municipal supply?
• In 2018, only 6% of Grand Valley residents with a private well tested their water
• Of those wells tested, 25% showed some evidence of bacterial contamination (including E. coli).

Staff from Public Health will be at the Grand Valley Municipal Office (5 Main Street North) on August 20, 21 and 22, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm to show you how we’re making it easier to test your water. Pick up a sample bottle and drop it off for testing. It’s FREE! The first 25 people to bring in a sample of their private, residential well water will receive a $10 gas gift card (Limit one gift card per person and address).
